Yoga for Total Health
Grace Osora Erhart (RYT 500) brings her deep love for yoga and decades of experience to the mat. For Grace, yoga is a meditation in motion, and the physical aspects, though important, are simply a vehicle for personal growth and present -moment awareness. Putting special emphasis on pranayam (breathing exercises), she guides her classes through an energy clearing physical practice so that her students feel more balanced, stable and alive. "Each class begins with intention," explains Grace. "We come to the present moment so we are guided to approach each movement with respect and genuine connection with our bodies."
Grace's yoga training began at Kripalu thirty years ago, and she has since integrated her many talents into her teaching, including her roles as a Registered Nurse, Lisenced Massage Therapist, and Level Three Dream Teacher in the Robert Moss School of Active Dreaming.
Grace has seen the difference that the practice can make in her own life--the feeling of health and acceptance of herself physically and emotionally. The desire to teach and share these gifts naturally followed. "I always have assuredness that yoga brings me back to my true nature," says Grace. "Through yoga, I can see more clearly what is a right path for me, what I really need to do for myself, to calm myself down and give me strength of spirit".
Active Dreaming is a magnificent tool to enhance our experience of life, giving us more power to manifest and create a life with true health, body and spirit.
Active Dreaming is about being conscious of all our states of awareness, from our usual day to day life and into our night dreams, daydreams and various other states of consciousness. It can be compared to what we experience in meditation, deep relaxation, or the hypnogogic drowsy state we experience before falling into sleep, where we are still aware but not quite part of our "regular world."
Active Dreaming is a compliment to yoga practice as we touch upon our greater self. That which is multidimensional, that which is more than our physical body. In the study of our sleep dreams or awake journeys using shamnic drumming as fuel, we conciousley explore all parts of our consciousness, very much like the "koshas" (5 sheaths of our Self) described in the yoga Upanishads.
I have studied with some awesome teachers such as Tom Gillette (three time Vinyasa training, loved it so much!), Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy program graduate, Yoganand Michel Carroll and many many more, starting out at the original Pennsylvania Ashram with Yogi Amrit Desai.
At the Monroe Institute in Virginia, conciousness exploration and expansion, warm and a wonderful 98 degrees here at the giant crystal.
